I'm basically looking to see how low people go, and I'd like to go as low as possible (to keep my apartment less stuffy and my bill lower) and still be somewhat comfortable.

We set ours at 64 most of the time unless the temp outside goes below 0. We might turn it up a couple degrees for awhile.

It really depends on how well your house is insulated. My garage is right under my bedroom an no insulation in between (yet) so it gets a bit cold at times.

Set it where you are comfortable. Our house never goes above 64, but our daughter says it like an ice box when she visits.
There is one thing I'd like to point out, looking to reduce costs doesn't always work that way, the price of gas or oil keeps going up so no matter where you set your thermostat it should be for your comfort, good health, not to try and save on the bill.

I have a wood burning stove so in the winter I set my thermostat at around 60 degrees but, it's about 65-70 degrees in the house.. I also dress warmer- I wear fleece and the kids are in sweats or fleece jammies... We also have a ranch so it's pretty warm.... Good luck

The whole point of having a thermostat is to set it to a temperature of your personal preference. The average is about 68 to 70 degrees. But you should set it to whatever you want. keep in mind that the warmer you set it, the more it will cost you.

We set ours at 65 during the day when we are there and 60 at night when we are sleeping. When we will be away during the day it goes down to 58. We have a programmable one - it has saved us a ton of $ and more than paid for itself.
