Toronto- The Economist Intelligence Unit rates Toronto the 4th most liveable city in the world (2010). Montreal is not in the top ten. However, Toronto is really expensive, but you can always decide to live in the suburbs. Edge: Toronto Climate- Toronto is generally warmer then Montreal, and expereinces less severe snowfall. Both have nice summers. Edge: Toronto Safety: Toronto is ranked 29 and Montreal 24 by Macleans magazine for crime (A higher score means a city experiences more crime per capita). (For Canadian cities). Edge: Toronto. Goods Toronto: Better nightlife, better entertainment and shopping options, closer to Michigan and the use of English as the main language. Goods Montreal: Not as expensive as Toronto. Bad Toronto: Expensive!!!! Bad Montreal: The use of French as the main language. Final Verdict: Toronto better city overall according to above criteria and closer to Michigan. :)

Probably Toronto. It is more of a tourist destination in summer than Montreal. Also, french is Montreal's official language and Montrealers have been known to be quite rude to those who do not speak the language. Fluency in English is all you need for most jobs in Toronto, fluent Spanish would be an asset. keep in mind though, competition for bartending jobs will be fierce as a lot of college/university students land those jobs in May or early June when classes are finished.

You can get along fine in Montreal with no or little French (just about everyone speaks English in my neighborhood) but it would limit the places you can get a job. Most bars look for people who can speak both languages...It depends how good your French is, I guess.

I don't know, but Montreal does have better bars. Open later too, so more tips! My impression is also that Montrealers tip better. Try there first.
I don't think your language skills matter as much as being cool/hot.
