The rich can live anywhere if they don't like a particular government - the rest of us are in for the long game.

Is it right that they get the same voting rights as the rest of us?

Yes. Keep in mind that the rich are a tiny minority and can be easily out-voted, so denying them the vote would accomplish little, in any case.

If you want to get the rich out of political power, end lobbying and political advertisemetns. Make contributing money to a politician's campaign - or, for that matter, a politician /spending/ money on his campaign - a 'corruption' charge.

no way should the rich be able to vote: they often become wealthy by having others work for them, creating jobs, which is a threat to liberalism, which tells us that the more people that live in a dependent, needy state, the more likely they are to continue getting elected, making promises to get the poor out of their financial bind, although they intend to do the exact opposite to advance their own cause (and bank accounts). they can afford things the rest of us cannot and they don't give their money back to put all Americans on equal financial footing, furthering the ideals of true communism. they are fundamentally against liberalism, so like any other American who speaks or acts out against it, their rights should be limited or revoked completely. if they can't vote, there's less opposition to liberalism, bringing us a little closer to the ultimate goal that the founding fathers had in mind at the Constitutional Convention. what a brilliant thought.

Of course they should be allowed to vote. As you mentioned, if they aren't happy, they could afford to move elsewhere. If that happens, all you have are poor people and a declining middle class. The rich invest tons of money in the stock market and the ultra rich do a lot of good through foundations. What would happen to this country if they took their money with them and moved to say Costa Rica? The new rich would be the middle class cubicle dwellers who are scared of losing their jobs and we'd be asking them to support the poor. Not a very good option in my opinion.

the place might you draw the line between prosperous and undesirable? And why shouldn't the prosperous be allowed to vote. issues like taxes can influence them only as much as human beings, and that they do no longer necessarrilly want our usa going to war over each and every little subject. All adult males are created equivalent. That is going the two techniques. you may no longer in basic terms say "Oh, you have greater funds then us, so we are doing away with one in all your rights" How might you like it in the event that they did the different of what your asserting.

Anybody who is of sound mind, who is of legal age, and who is not a felon, and is an American Citizen should be allowed to vote in state and federal elections. Even you should be allowed to vote. Posting dumb questions on Yahoo Answers does not disqualify a person from voting. Dumb is not a crime.

Are a lot of rich people citizens of this country? Yes. Ergo, those people should be allowed to vote, according to the Constitution.

It's the rich who decide who is elected because they are the ones who vote. If you want things to be different help to get more average and poor people to the voting booths. If the poor were to vote, this country wouldn't be in the shape it's in now!

Of course they should be allowed to vote. Being rich is not a crime, we should have more of them, in fact the rich usually run the country, and why shouldn't they, they are intellectualy superior.

Look at it another way, unlike the rich, most people dont pay any taxes and if they do it is a relatively small amount- this is especially true for the bottom 40%- numbers dont lie but a lot of class warfare liberals do

Or alternatively if you are not smart enough to get rich then you are to dumb to be allowed to vote. How does that work as logic - just as daft I guess.
