Hey there...I have two wonderful dogs, but after a few years the couch is looking a bit down. What is the easiest and most inexpensive way to clean up the furniture a bit. I will continue to have the dogs sleep on it.

You could get a machine washable slip cover- in a neutral color to help camouflage the dog hair.

The best way to clean leather furniture is to buy the product from a furniture store, after you clean it you will also want to condition it to keep the moisture of the skin and continue that process every 6 - 12 months. MAKE SURE YOU TEST BOTH THE CLEANER AND CONDITION IN A UNVISIBALE PLACE ON THE BACK OF THE SOFA.

It depends on what the fabric is. Some sofas are dry clean only and some you can use soap and water on. Test a small area in the back and see if you can steam clean it. I have a Bissell spot bot that is wonderful. It has an attachment for furniture.

Use a foaming fabric and upholstery cleaner. You spray it on, rub it in with a cloth or brush, and vacuum it up when it's dry. It cleans and deodorizes the upholstery. But, it also might fade it a bit.

Then just use a throw on the spot where your dogs sleep. Something you can throw in the wash whenever it gets grungy.

I would if possible vacuum the entire sofa... A shopvac is marvelous for doing this task... If possible wash the cushions and tumble dry.. Leave the cushions a wee bit damp and put them back on the sofa... Let them air dry... Vacuum the frame. I would then invest in some slipcovers you can simply wash when they get dirty.. good luck

if the cusons come off.. just take them off and throw them in the dryer.. if they dont... you can air dry them outside.. maybe spray some fabreeze on them and vacume the whole thing. inside and out.... you can even use the old cleaning trick from back in the day.. take them outside and beat them.. haha it'll help get some of the dust out. it might help?
