Ok...lets see you rake the lawn but people will NOT pay you afterwards! Hmm sounds like you are being ripped off or you are not doing a good enough job.

This is what I would do...Rake the lawn to the best of my ability. I would try to make it look spectacular. I would do a little extra, rake around trees and shrubs make sure all piled leaves are picked up and stored away or haul them out.

Don't think about the money think about what if this was my lawn.

Now ask them politely to pay you. I can almost guarantee they will pay the 15 bucks...possibly even call you back again. It's even possible they may tip you an extra 5 bucks.

They may even tell their friends and neighbors about you.
How do I know? I've done it man!

Are you raking the lawn without asking? What you need to do is ask the people if they would be willing to pay 15 bucks to have their lawn raked clean. If not, and if you are not willing to come down on price, then move along. 15 bucks is not bad for a raked lawn as long as your bagging the leaves. Get approval first and then you will not be doing all that labor for free.

Where do you live..? I would LOVE to pay someone $15 to rake our lawn.. !!! We have a rather large lawn with a ton a leaves... !!! It generally takes us about 4-6 hours per side front/back to do the entire yard.. I'd be thrilled to pay that and we would help just to get it done faster ! Good luck

If all your doing is raking the lawn, $15.oo is too much. Do more yard work or lower your price after you have negotiated with the homeowner. I certainly wouldn't do the work without asking if it's wanted anyway.

Tell them your price before you do the work. If they feel the price is too high you can always negotiate before the work begins. Once you've raked, you don't have any bargaining power. If their offer to you is too low, simply walk away and try someone else.

I found that if you charge a higher price and do a great job people will pay. Then I give them a little extra. If the Do not pay return the leaves to them
