The best book I've read is called the Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky. It's about three brothers who are all very different, one is an intellectual, one is a passionate romantic, and the other is spiritual. The plot is way too involved to go into here, but I like it because the characters are painted beautifully, the story is captivating, and the writing is superb. It's the best novel I've ever read, and I've read quite a few!

Fortune's Rocks by Anita Shreeve. I picked up off my 11th Grade English teacher's shelf and haven't been able to stop reading it 7 years later. It's about a young girl who is about 15, who falls in love with a man 3 times her age, who just so happens to be her father's good friend. They get caught, her family is completely demolished by this. (It's based in the early 1900's, so you can imagine the scandal). Then she finds out she's pregnant, they take the baby from her, years later she finds out that it's somewhere near where she lives and she fights to get him back.
It's very very good. I can say, each time I read it, I look at it differently. Back then I thought it would be so romantic, now I 'm like EW I can't believe that guy took advantage of that 15 year old girl. Just life I guess, that's changed me.
I recommend it, it's amazing.

To this day, the best book I have ever read is still Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
It is a story about what would happen if a society tried to burn all books, basically running away from knowledge.

My favorite book is Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I love it because of the questions it makes you think about concerning love, God, and the very foundations of right and wrong. Don't think it's boring and stuffy, though! It's a great (if terribly sad) love story set in the Victorian era, when all great love stories are set. It's fairly short, as well. It makes good reading when you don't have much time to read or you're one of those people who has to read a book cover-to-cover in one sitting.

The Last Testament by Sam Bourne - it's very good and once you get into it, really exciting but it's very heavy-going so if you're not an avid reader, I don't recommend it!
