I had to repost this question because some right winger wo didn't want this question asked reported it the last time I did.

I changed "whine" to "gripe" for the sake of tender sensibilities, but they can delete it again if they choose, all it will do is prove once again who they are - dishonest, repressive, liars

This is repost #1

PLEASE STAR THIS QUESTION.

A STAR IS EVIDENCE OF A QUESTIONS VALIDITY TO YAHOO AND WILL PROVE YOU ARE AGAINST THIS KIND OF CENSORSHIP

I can repost it as many times as they delete it.

Uh, you haven't actually asked a question (read the Guidelines).

But I'll assume you're asking for comment on your thought.

Yes, ironic, isn't it?

"Enhanced interrogation" is pretty Orwellian -- yet Orwell and Ayn Rand said this sort of thing would be coming solely from the left.

Then you've got "collateral damage" which means "mass murder" and "liberation" which means 'death and destruction.'

Then you've got phenomena like calling Kerry a 'fip-flopper' while switching madly between "I'll hunt down Osama Bin Laden." "It's not about Bin Laden." "A day never goes by I don't think about Bin Laden." and so on; dare I say flipping back and forth, depending on whether he's trying to justify an unjustifiable war, or Bin Laden's put out another tape.

Or "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" "Stay the course!" ...

and "We've never said 'stay the course'."

Oh, and "Clean Skies" which allows the dumping of sludge into the air.

"No Child Allowed to Be Educated"

It's like shooting pickles in a barrel, isn't it?

Far too many people hit the "report it" button on Yahoo simply because they disagree with points made in a question or answer. It seems that yahoo's current policy is to hand out a violation if more than two people report something, whether it's a genuine violation or not. It seems that those who make perfectly reasonable and inoffensive points get punished, while activists of the extreme right, who often make offensive and/or racist comments, seem to get away with breaking as many Yahoo community guidelines as they please. It makes you wonder if Yahoo are as unbiased in these matters as they claim.

The CIA sources described the list of six "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" instituted in mid-March 2002 and used, they said, on a dozen top al Qaeda targets incarcerated in isolation at secret locations on military bases in regions from Asia to Eastern Europe. According to the sources, only a handful of CIA interrogators are trained and authorized to use the techniques:

1. The Attention Grab: The interrogator forcefully grabs the shirt front of the prisoner and shakes him.

2. The Attention Slap: An open-handed slap aimed at causing pain and triggering fear.

3. The Belly Slap: A hard open-handed slap to the stomach. The aim is to cause pain, but not internal injury. Doctors consulted advised against using a punch, which could cause lasting internal damage.

4. Longtime Standing: This technique is described as among the most effective. Prisoners are forced to stand, handcuffed and with their feet shackled to an eye bolt in the floor for more than 40 hours. Exhaustion and sleep deprivation are effective in yielding confessions.

5. The Cold Cell: The prisoner is left to stand naked in a cell kept near 50 degrees. Throughout the time in the cell the prisoner is doused with cold water.

6. Waterboarding (as demonstrated in the picture above): The prisoner is bound to an inclined board, feet raised and head slightly below the feet. Cellophane is wrapped over the prisoner's face and water is poured over him. Unavoidably, the gag reflex kicks in and a terrifying fear of drowning leads to almost instant pleas to bring the treatment to a halt.

Officials told ABC News on Sept. 14 that the controversial interrogation technique, in which a suspect has water poured over his mouth and nose to stimulate a drowning reflex as shown in the above demonstration, had been banned by the CIA director at the recommendation of his deputy, Steve Kappes.

Oh the humanity we are "attention grabbing people"

Yeah, there is a lot of stupid Conservatives(that's redundant) on Y!A.

How anyone can defend torture is beyond me. Again, the people defending it will defend anything associated with Bush. If Bush was really behind 9/11 and it was proven along with his confession, these same Cons would defend Bush's actions for attacking his own country. I'm not saying I think Bush was behind 9/11, I'm just saying that Cons would defend him regardless.

Since violation notices are my pet peeve I will only address that. I recieved a notice today because some hatefilled liberal posted a rant and I posted "There really isnt any point to this question is there?"
Imagine getting a violation notice for that?? I feel your pain brother. I dont agree with anything you say except for this whole reporting of questions or answers that a person doesnt agree with but we are 100% together on that. I disagree with most questions and answers yet have NEVER and will NEVER report someone because of it.
Like myself, you cannot repost as many times as they get it deleted because our accounts get cancelled

You are confused between political correctness and euphemisms. Calling torture, "enhanced interrogation techniques" is a euphemism. Not being able to call evil women; biatches, gays; homos, blacks; the "N" word, or undocumented workers; illegal aliens, is political correctness, or censorship. The liberals are the biggest supporters of political correctness, while cons use euphemisms quite frequently.

Political correctness is a method for stifling dissent and casting those who disagree with the liberal viewpoint as racists, Nazis, bigots, homophobes, anti-Semites, and more.
I prefer conservatives use of euphemisms to the libs PC censorship!

I've said here more than once that each group has it's own form of political correctness

ex for the bush conservatives it's politically correct to unquestioningly support the "war president"

Political correctness is just as wrong as Killing Babies, oh I forgot, Liberals call them Fetus. That Baby that Liberals have no problem killing wants to love and be loved. The Enemy combatant on the other hand wants to kill you and me. The Conservative worries about the Baby, and the Liberal worries about the Enemy, Figure that one out.

Enhanced interrogation, freedom fries, detainees are all examples of conservative PC.

Mostly the right doesn't care about insulting others though...

Yes indeed. Euphemisms can be entertaining from a linguistics standpoint but they are a piss poor substitute for the truth.
