I say "no" and this comment from someone basically sums up my thoughts nicely:

"MAF hasn't given up a goal in the last two games. I'm just sayin'..."

♥ pvhs '10 - I love Fleury too. But sometimes when you love someone, you have to be able to let them go. =/
Lol.
LITY - I was being goofy as usual in asking this, as you could probably tell, but I completely expected some serious answers/information. Like the LITY-type. So thanks! :)
But ugh, please tell me the Pens will look at other teams, teams besides Colorado and LA...

2eighty8 - How easy you say the word "best" and Fleury in the same sentence but can't do the same for Sid!
...I love scarves. Lol. Thanks. :)

MIKE - ...I'llkillyou. LOL.
SNOOP - Haha, too bad Barrasso and a boatload of former Penguins are all involved in Carolina's management. LOL. Seriously, I think there's 4 or 5 former Pens working for the Canes---what's up with that??
Anyway, with the first month of the season out of the way, I'm looking for Fleury (not to mention some other Pens!) to step it. If not, that's when the real mass hysteria will probably set in. You'd think after last season's slow start, everyone would be putting on an intense display of effort every night...
Besides Sid. You were absolutely right on when you said he's trying to do everything right now, possibly too much (if there is such a thing). But even if he gets 2 goals, the Pens still manage to lose...

PAUL O - Should the Pens be examining their blueline? Yes, for the past 3 years. Lol.

E, the way Fleury has played in his 'hot & cold' manner, Tom Barrasso could step in and do a better job than the current Penguins starter. The biggest problem MAF has had throughout his young career is this: the Penguins have never had a veteran goalie to show Fleury the ropes in the NHL. Sebastien Caron? J-S Aubin? Dany Sabourin? Jocelyn Thibault? Ty Conklin? Notice a disturbing pattern here in this "illustrious" list? These aforementioned names are associated with the wrong French-Canadian breed of outstanding netminders (save for the former Edmonton flame-out Conklin). If the Penguins are going to pick up someone who will either challenge Fleury or guide him through the fire, it shouldn't be a retread or a non-prospect. Trade for someone extremely talented (Jaroslav Halak?) or someone who has won something in the NHL (Ed Belfour?). It's getting pretty obvious where Fleury's career is heading: he will be mentioned in the same breath as Kris Benson and Kordell Stewart among Pittsburgh athletes with so much talent and little statistical background to show for it.

Im a Penguins fan, and there really isnt any controversy between Sabourin and Fleury. Sabourin has just been doing good of late, but Fleury hasn't been doing bad. They just want Sabourin to get lots of work, and rest Fleury. I think Fleury is doing very well, and can make a cup run.

IMO I don't think Fleury has been the same since giving up that fluke goal that cost Canada the world juniors gold a few seasons ago. But pittsburg MUST have a better goalie if they are to make a serious cup run.

OMG OMG OMG, It would be so frickin awesome if Fleury would come to the Avs, all the goaltending problems would be fixed! We'd have our superstar goalie! YAAY!!

BUT

If Fleury leaves, the Penguins will start a downward spiral into mediocrity and never amount to being contenders ever again. I still say that Fleury is one of the best today, he has gotten off to a slow start, like Brodeur (you don't see anyone calling for Brodeur's head, well, except me lol). Give him time, Sabourin sucks. Did you see that goal he let in to Guite of the Avs last night? I could have stopped that!

~

Kill me??? WHY??? I don't wanna! lol, I did say that I wouldn't like it if Fleury went to the Avs. But if he does, I won't cry over it.

I don't think so. I think it's just impatient fans making this into an unnecessary controversy. Fleury will be one of the best goalies in the league, just give him time.

Nice scarf.

lol Erica, it's easy because I've seen Fleury play before his confidence dropped like a rock. He was screwed by his own bosses by being sent down to the minors because they couldn't afford to pay him the incentives that he was about to make. The moment he gets his confidence back, he'll do fine.

No contrrovery at all ... they still don't have a goalie to take them all the way. I am sorry but Fleury won't cut it ... when you get to the playoffs, your goalie can't be letting in 5 or 6 goals a game.
Pittsburgh has enough talent to trade for a top notch goalie ... they should have done that in the summer.

Still pretty early in the season to react to any negative goaltending patterns. And is it really all goaltending, or should the Pens be examining their blueline.

OMG maybe the Pens can trade for Raycroft. They could send Crosby back to the Leafs in the deal and all will finally be right in the world.

Erica, they have talked to couple of teams about goaltenders in the last week (Colorado, Los Angeles) so they are looking for something
