BY sickness I mean nausea-or is this an old wives tale? I heard the CIA/M15 ,etc would attach a device that transmits some sort of radio wave/noise at a rival politician or similar rally/speech. Causing untold social damage to the speaker.

There are certain infrasound frequencies that can cause nausea , mild hallucinations and feelings of disorientation and high frequencies (ultrasound) can cause headaches.
Any sound frequency played at a high enough volume can cause ear pain and hearing damage.
As for social damage, who knows. Maybe a subtle infrasound level broadcast into the crowd while a politician makes his speech will cause some level of subliminal uneasiness, but it's a lightweight crapshoot attack at best.
