There are 360° degrees in a circle. 360 was chosen by the ancient Babylonians because 360 can be divided evenly by 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, etc. Plus they had their basis in a base-60 system.

If you draw two perpendicular lines, they divide the circle into 4 quadrants each at right angles. 360° / 4 = 90°

A right angle is 90°
