I've noticed that many of my shoes, including my dress shoes, tend to stink up after a while. Even after I spray the inside with Lysol and let them sit outside for a while, they still stink. I've bought charcoal shoe insoles in the past to absorb some of the smell, but still my shoes get all sweaty and smelly. Is there any way to fix this problem? Any recommended spray or something I can do for shoes that are too stinky already.

The smell comes from your feet, so treat your feet.

The Lysol will do the trick for the shoes, but you need to spray your feet with an athlete's foot anti-fungal spray.

I recommend either using an anti-fungal powder in your shoes or using the spray-on moist powder, which will dry to a powder coating on your feet.

Also, make sure your socks are natural fiber, not poly or nylon. Cotton and wool will absorb the sweat.

Lastly, change your socks often.

Shoe Ionizer

Put a small amount of coffee in a little container
Place that inside your shoe (making sure you don't spill it) Seal the shoe off with the container inside for a day or two.
There you go!

This also works wonders for refridgerators. It seems to absorb all the bacteria and kill it off (thus removing the smell)

If shoes are washable, wash them.
Otherwise (charcoal insoles helps) use Febreze or other neutralizer spray.
wear cotton socks.
deodorant with anti-persiration onto soles of your feet.

When getting shoes, try to find types that allow 'breathing'.

I work in a kitchen- and I already have genetically stinky feet- haha

I have shoe ionizer that I got for christmas (yeah they are that bad) that works well- I am not sure about already "permeated" shoes but with newer shoes it works good.
Mine isn't this one- its a cheaper version but you might want to try one----

baking soda works for me. Just sprinkle some in before you go to bed, dump it out in the morning and go (it is ok if there is still a little left over it wont hurt anything)

Definitely if they smell and what not, I would wash them like in the washer machine that should get the smell out, or you can put baby powder in them....thats what my mom used to do for me when i was a kid....and also febreeze them as well. Good Luck!
