No Adam & Eve, no shame or stigma attached to being naked. Plus, what does he have to cover up? I didn't see any private parts on the thing. The only creatures on this earth that wear clothes by their own choice are humans, so actually, it's conceivable that another culture may not see the need for such things either, especially since their society might have evolved that way.
Plus, that's the way Spielberg wanted him to be. Directors. Go figure. ;)
