The bible tells us that we weren't born gay. So if we changed to be gay, we can change back. Right?

What is your opinion?

No person is born gay. Some people deviate and turn to this behavior that pleases satan. But have no fear: God is just and forgiving. If He sees that someone wishes to go back to the ways of the Truth, then He may bless them with strength and make them wise. God watches all and knows all. I'm convinced that being gay, as much of a sin as it may be, is not necessarily definitive. All we can do is pray for the stray brothers and sisters. God bless!

You aren't really looking for educated opinions I suspect -- but rather to use this format to proselytize; you are however going to get some educated opinions regardless.

1. It doesn't matter what the Bible (or the Koran, or the Torah, or any other late bronze age or early iron age book) says about anything. The Bible tells us a lot of things. The Bible tells us:

a. that the world is flat with corners (Isaiah 11:12)
b. that the earth sits on pillars (I Samuel 2:8)
c. that it sits atop water (Psalms 24:1-2)
all false statements. The Bible tells us:
d. the bat is a fowl or bird (Leviticus 11:13-19)
and
e. the grasshopper and locust have 4 feet not 6 (Leviticus 11: 21-23)
also false --
f. the Bible clearly demonstrates that pi is 3.00 rather than 3.14 (I Kings 7:23 and 2 Chronicles 4:2) and
g. aptly proves that almighty God has problems counting (Numbers 3:16-39) -- add them up, you'll get 300 more than "God" too.

Reality is that these are bronze age books, written by men -- cobbled together by other men in 393 (Synod of Hippo) -- and then approved for use in the Church in 397 (Council of Carthage) and subsequently approved by the Pope.

Prior to that different churches had different books -- or no books at all -- and the canon of the Bible, which was determined by vote, was and is no more sacred than any other group of period books.

The early church followed Jesus Christ as a statement of faith and expressed that faith through the Eucharist. The later inclusion of the Bible has been a cause of confusion and destruction ever since.

The simple facts that I point out above, a few among hundreds upon hundreds of provable errors of science, math, history, and prophecy that are found in scripture prove beyond question that what the Bible says about anything cannot be trusted, and is often not only wrong - but misleading.

Based on that, what the Bible says about homosexuality (and by the way, it does not say what you assert anyway -- supposedly Christ said that "some are born eunuchs from their mother's wombs" -- and that verse relates directly to homosexuality IN PERIOD.) doesn't matter one way or another. Just as the earth is round and spins around the sun -- just as beetles have 6 legs and bats are not birds -- so too homosexuality is from the cradle - and believe me, the millions upon millions of us are not making something up - just to confuse you.

2. No one changes from gay to straight or straight to gay -- although a fair number of people pretend the former -- many of them eventually get caught out in their deception.

Kind regards,

Reynolds

First off, the bible may be the be-all, end-all source for you, but thankfully we live in a society where the bible isn't the basis of our society.

Secondly, you need to reread the bible, hunny. It in no way, shape or form says people "weren't born gay." It says literally nothing on that subject, and very little on anything related to being gay. In fact, the little that it does say about being gay has been refuted by many scholars as severe mistakes in translation.

My opinion is that you are ignorant.

If you know nothing , then nothing is the best thing to say.

EDIT:
No, child, you are ignorant because you have no idea what you are talking about.

Didn't your mummy teach you that it is impolite to call people "stupid"? Does she know you are on the internet being rude?

EDIT 2:
"You people are the most ignorant, most gullible, and least educated people I have EVER seen. Go ahead and lie to yourselves. But y'all going to hell. =)"

Wow, don't you just love Christian children? The little smiley face is such a cute touch!

I think the people of Westboro Baptist Church would be so proud of you ... and that is not something of which you should be proud.

Maybe one day you will be mature enough to give the real world a try ... it is nothing at all like the little world inside your head.

If your parents have taught you any sense of decency at all, you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself right now.

You are not me so how can you say I wasn't born gay? You can't! If you choose to believe in a book of fiction then you have that right but I also have the right to be who I am without you saying different.

You need to quote the bible passage and give us a source.

Having a working knowledge of that text, I don't recall any part that says "people aren't born gay"....

Do you think we are all idiots on this forum?
Don't even go anywhere near the water if you don't know how to swim, dear.

God made genetics so that explains how people are born gay just like some are born with brown eyes when your family hasn't had anybody with brown eyes since a great grandmother, understand because it's the same thing: genetics.

The bible doesn't say anything about being born gay or not.

Don't pick verses out and then morph them into something else.

You can't help who you are naturally attracted to. I don't comprehend how anyone can think that attraction is a choice, and in the end that is how homosexuality is defined by: same-sex attraction.

Where in the Bible does it say this?

If you want to lie to yourself and be miserable, you go ahead and pretend to be straight. I'm happy with who I am and I know I was born gay, thank you.

Absolutely right noone is born gay or heterosexual. Its just something we grow to feel and love. As far as what the bible says, ummm its say alot of things and the bible has been fabricated for a long time. Its a good book dont get me wrong to follow with a beautiful spiritual guidance but it really contradicts itself big time,. But definately people arent born gay or hetero...its something that grows in us as we grow older.
