on these gangs of young yobs who attack the Firemen? I have just been watching our local news North Tonight, and in Dundee a town not too far away the fire crews were trying to put out a blaze. All the while this gang of teen yobs were pelting them with stones, sticks, anything they could lay their hands on. WHY?
Whats their reasons for this behaviour, does this happen in other countries, or is it just the not so jolly old UK.

This behavior is the natural result Imagery. These kids grew up watching aggression on television and in video games. Today people are outraged over" Manhunt 2"
because it puts you in the torture chamber either subject or inflicter!

These kids are becoming what's been modeled for them their entire life. They've imagined everything and now they 're becoming! It's the "garbage in, garbage out" theory.
We'd better wake up, forget about demanding our rights at the cost of all society.
I think we're in trouble.

Wickwire, I'm so sorry about your sister.

This has happened before in other parts of the UK and unfortunately if our Firemen were to turn their hoses onto the yobs they'd probably be up in front of a Disciplinary Board and the yobs would probably sue them for damages/compensation! If our Police turned up the yobs would probably pelt them as well. Unfortunately this is the UK and not the USA.....none of them would get hauled off to jail like Goldwing said would happen in America. There is no reason for this type of behaviour other than they are mindless and do it for kicks. It was probably the yobs who started the fire in the first place!

They are brainless louts who have been allowed to get away with anything they do all of their empty lives. They know that whatever crime they commit the chances of paying for it are vanishingly small, and even if they are arrested they will either get off with a talking to or go to a jail that is probably more comfortable than the place they live in. Of course, once they do go down their street cred will rise and they will lose whatever fear they ever had of going to jail. This kind of bad behavior is steadily rising and will continue to rise. Just imagine what their kids will be like, and their kids after them!
The only arbiters of good manners and consideration are the older generation, and when we kick the bucket there will be no standards at all left of civilised behavior. Enjoy today while you can, for in a very few years these will be 'The good old days'

I have never heard of Fire Fighters being attacked by gangs of teenagers in the USA - even on the national news! I also get BBCAmerica and have never seen anything being reported on this subject on that channel either! Sorry that the UK is so full of unrest lately - I was born south of London - south of the Thames. CJ

Back in the early 70s during many of the riots firemen were attacked. This was in the US. I think all the attackers should be rounded up and arrested. Firemen the world over risk their lives daily. Anyone that attacks them is an IDIOT and a JERK and should be in prison.

Maybe they are pyromaniacs & they want to watch the flames of their "handiwork"! It reminds me of the 1960's when anti-government youth wanted to destroy the governemnt agencies by blowing up the buildings that had all the public records in them! It seems that all that was old is resurfacing & coming into play again. I'm in California. So far, we have had good luck & much community respect for our fire fighters in the USA..I hope this doesn't catch on & become popular over here. Strangely, I haven't heard about any of this on the nightly news...not even on BBC!

Unfortunately, this kind of behaviour is down to lack of discipline, both parential and at school. When the police can stir themselves into action and some of these cretins are caught and brought before the courts , they are given a social worker who is little more than a kid themselves. The senile judge sits there nods and slaps their wrists, off they go to reoffend !

What in the world is going on with the youth today? No I have not heard of this stateside. That does not mean it hasn't happened. We have kids throwing big rocks off the overpasses of the highway while the cars go by. Why? Evil is all I can think of.

It is part of the mindless out of control behaviour these days as a result of the lax attitudes in discipline in the homes and at school. What hope is there of instilling good behaviour in the youth of today when parents and teachers can be criminalised for punishing their children or those under their supervision. Political correctness gone mad, and we are reaping what these do gooders have sown.

To these young idiots, it's just a good laugh. Pity they don't turn the hoses on these yobs, that would cool them down.
