Can anyone tell me whats going on with him.
Is he ill and is he gonna retire.
I'm a meat loaf fan and would be really upset if I retired but if he is sick then he would have to.

My Mum was at the concert with her friend, and we went to the Sheffield show in May too - apparently he wasn't his normal self right from the beginning of this show on Wednesday. I think he is still performing at Birmingham tonight, even though he said all those things about quitting - it's apparently just exhuastion. I think his promoters should have given him a longer break than they have - exhausted and stressed, and 48 hours later he's fit as a fiddle? I doubt it.

They're not giving money back to those who only got a third of a show, because he 'performed for more than an hour' (it was actually 50/55 minutes) - I think that might be why they forced him on stage on Wednesday - so that they didn't lose any money or have to reschedule. I think it's a bit of a disgrace to be honest, but I don't think it's his doing - more likely his promoters (the ones who, at first, said the fans were making the 'quitting' rumours up).

I hope he is better soon, because I <3 him!

*Edit: Sorry, just read that he cancelled his Birmingham gig. He should be okay soon though! And I feel so sorry for the man who was 'weeping' (see The Times link)! =(

*Edit 2: Although the Birmingham fans are going to be extremely disappointed, and will have wasted money travelling there, at least they were entitled to a rescheduled concert (that's what they should have done in Newcastle, which I think is a bit unfair because they appear to have missed out now).

About 15 years ago he was playing clubs and sounded great live.

For 10 times the money and 10 times the size of the place,he is nowhere near as good as he was.

He has a heart condition (Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome - Marilyn Manson also has this condition - it causes an irregular heart beat and can cause sudden death )
as does his longtime songwriter Jim Steinman who had a heart attack.

He did make an announcement a couple of nights ago on Halloween that would be his last live show, plus he recently turned 60. He might have been referring to the last time he'll play that city and not the last show ever. Phil Collins was saying the same thing. I just think they don't want people to get their hopes up if they never tour again.

The official website does sound like the tour is still going on.

Who knows because he said that last time around. But if it's too risky for him to do live shows, then you'll see him, but just on TV and movies.

Don't worry he is still around he is doing a few tours round Britain just now but remember he is getting old he has been around for several years now and sadly all good things must come to an end I've got a sneaky suspicion this is his last tours but look on the bright side he will always be remembered and he is already known as a classic.

Looks to me like he's just across the pond touring so he's alive and kickin' but not much in the US spotlight right now.

I saw him a couple years ago and he was still good. I hope he doesn't hang it up.

He did a few concerts last year. I didn't go, but some friends did and said he was way past his best.
