From the painful expierence we had last time of that awful song from my last question, I offer you this Across the Universe, by Rufus Wainwright

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H71Fv3PcQQY

It's not as good as the original, but I think it does it justice.

What's your favorite Beatles cover?

There were many Beatles covers, some good...some really bad!
These are a few of my favorites:

I Am the Walrus - Spooky Tooth
For No One - Black Water Park
Tomorrow Never Knows - 801
Every Little Thing - Yes
Come Together - Kin Ping Meh
Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - Jimi Hendrix
Day Tripper / Rain - Randy California
Blackbird - Lincoln Mayorga

- Oh, just driving home and my brain was bombarded with other covers, and I can't believe I forgot these;
Blackbird - Eric Burdon & War
Help - The Damned
No Reply - Buzzcocks
Eleanor Rigby - Vanilla Fudge, Bloodrock, Booker T. And The MG's, and The Crusaders.
The entire 'McLemore Avenue' album (which is their version of Abbey Road) - Booker T and the MG's.
I Want You (She's So Heavy) - Alvin Lee (Ten Years After)
Get Back - Amen Corner
Lady Madonna - Apollo 100
Back In The USSR - Chubby Checker

And The Flamin' Groovies covered these Beatles songs splendidly:
Please Please Me
And Your Bird Can Sing
I Wanna Be Your Man
Day Tripper
From Me To You
Please Please Girl
There's A Place
Misery

And don't forget 'The Brady Bunch' version of 'Love Me Do', and 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' rocking 'I Want To Hold Your Hand'!

There's hundreds more, just check out this site:

Edit - here's another great site!

Also this is worth checking out...Chipmunks Style! Pretty darned scary, somebody's having fun with a variable speed control! I went on Youtube and typed in Chipmunks Beatles, and I was surprised at just how many people have been having fun with classic Beatles songs! Haaa!

I can't narrow it down to one!

These are my favourites :~

Let It Be ~ Joe Cocker
Not A Second Time ~ Robert Palmer
While My Guitar Gently Weeps ~ Jeff Healey
With A Little Help From My Friends ~ Joe Cocker
While My Guitar Gently Weeps ~ The Assembled Multitude
Got To Get You Into My Life ~ Cliff Bennett & The Rebel Rousers

I don't know if this counts, but there is a beautiful version of
'Here Comes the Sun' by Joe Brown on the album of the
George Harrison tribute concert.

I also quite like these :~

She Came In Through the Bathroom Window ~ Joe Cocker
Something ~ Joe Cocker {It's his voice that does it for me!}
While My Guitar Gently Weeps ~ Spineshank {not one of the best, but there's something about it...}.

When I read the title of your question my first thought was ~ artwork?!

Edit :~

I'd love to see a question about that!
Oh, and just 'Silver' is fine :)

I Call Your Name - The Boys

Great punk cover that keeps the pop and ever some harmonies! The Boys were great.

And Siouxsie & The Banshees did a good version of "Helter Skelter".

And I have to confess to Machpen, I've never heard the Damned's version of "Help!" :( I might buy that expandsed editiong of their first CD just for it, I always hear it's good but I never see it anywhere.

I really like Helter Skelter by Motley Crue. It's a really great cover and the great members of Motley Crue do it a lot of justice. Nothing is worse than some untalented band redoing a great song so I'm glad they did a good job.
