I want to customize my 98 pontiac grand am. see it has 178 000 on it. But my question is is that if i start adding new parts for the old vehicle with so many miles, will it run like new again as i customize it (adding new parts to worn out ones? transforming it into a new car from scratch by adding parts and designing it to make it look more attractive......be specific and also can i reverse the age (milage) on it too? or would the miles still remain there?

Come on...a 98 Grand Am...really? I'm not trying to be an a$$hole but that is hardly the car I would customize. There have to be a million of them and they aren't the most reliable or the best looking car around. But...if you're gonna do it.
It is illegal to roll back the mileage. You can (and will have to)
replace most of the major components, engine, transmission, A/C, CV Joints, etc, etc. Then if its going to really be a customized car you'll need a body kit, paint, headlights and taillights. Man you're talking about thousands of dollars. Why don't you just save the money and buy a sharp newer car?

I hope this is a joke.
Anyways, if it is not a joke my answer is this. Do not waste your time, or money on this car. It will most likely not last you more than another two years, unless you never drive. And when you go to sell it, you will not be able to add in all the money you spent on parts to the sale price.
Save up the money you would put into this car, and some day buy a different car that already has more power and style.
Good Luck

well...no
to do what you are planning it would be cheaper to go buy a new gto.

remember that mileage takes effect on all parts. True, you can replace the engine, but then your distributor shaft will probably go out, then your tranny, then the vacuum lines. It's an endless pit, and the only way is to replace everything (axles and bearings/tie arms too) and the factory can do that much cheaper than you can. It's like an 80y/o woman getting breast implants. They might look fantastic, but if she dies 6 m/o later it's a big waste of money!

No sense in trying to mod a car with so much mileage unless you really like it, you might as well get a newer car and start with that
