me and my gril frind have been going out for 7 months now and her parents said they dont like me and want me to stay away from her daughter and i said no because i feel like i truly love her. so they said they will get a restraining order aginst me from seeing his daughter....i was wondering if it is even possible for her dad to get a restraining order to prevent me from ever seeing her even though i have never hurt her or pushed her or threatined her, hell i have never even told her to shut up befor. i have also never threatened her family or any thing. she is 16 years old and i am 17 so can they even do that.

This site answered the question. From what I got, the answer is no, her father will not be granted a restraining order unless he can prove harassment or abuse. You might want to copy the info on the site and give it to her parents.

I highly doubt he can get a restraining order against you. If he IS able to get one, and you've done nothing wrong, it will be based on lies. Have you tried talking with her parents and working things out? I know that the last thing a 17 year old guy wants to do is sit down with his girlfriend's parents, especially when they don't approve, but it may help. Just a suggestion. As far as the restraining order, I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Depends on the judge. But my advice would be to end it, you're both too young. Go for something better- all the problems with the 'rents are gonna destroy your "love" eventually. You're not living in a movie.

Yes, since she is a minor he can. You are "doing something wrong" in that you are not respecting his decision that you are to stay away from his daughter.

He can try, but unless he has sufficient proof that you are a danger, it is unlikey the judge will approve it.
