What state do you live in? Bail bondsmen are not legal in every state (KY for example). It sounds to me like his bond is 10% of $15,000. . .$1,500. Basically, that means $1,500 will get him out of jail, but the person who bonds him out will be on the line for the remainder of $15,000 if he does not appear in court. Check your state to see if bail bondsmen are legal.

The cost of a bail bond is normally 10% of the bail amount. Contact a bondsman in your area to get a bond.
