They are not considered citizens. The only protection a legal POW has are those granted him by the Geneva Convention. Terrorists are not part of a National Army and thus do not enjoy the same protections.

POWs are covered under the Geneva convention and are not considered citizens.

What prisoners of war are you speaking of? GITMO? Those are "detainees," therefore not afforded to the same treatment as a POW under the Geneva convention, according to the Bush Administration.

Well, that'd be the case in a civil war. Though, I'm sure that's not what your'e talking about. If you're talking Guantanimo, for instance, they are neither citizens /nor/ prisoners of war, they are detained illegal combatants.

They are not . Prisoners of war who are the enemy shooting at our troops are obviously seen as heroes for the effort of the war on the war on terror .There is never any indignation in mainstream media or with leading democrats about terrorist attrocities to the innocent..but humiliate a blood-thirsty terrorist and democrats in office have a field day . If it's in their POWER they would not only grant citizens rights to them..but welcome them over the border .
