you should split the price. he has to pay half for coming up with a stupid idea like that, and you have to pay the other half for being stupid enough to acually do it.
by the way, did you break anything doing it, or did you just bruise you tailbone so much you cant sit down?

I hope you told your parents that your best friend put you up to it. ("Double-dog dare" makes it sound pretty likely.) He and his parents should pay for it.
(And in the future, I'd be very careful about who I'd choose to be my best friend.)
