That my friend is a very good question brave men that have been decorated for valour have done some amazing things some have lived to tell the tale some have not. People can have serious illness and be called brave.
But I suppose someone who runs the gauntlet across a train track or busy road is not brave but stupid at some point he will come off worse .

Not much difference except in the outcome. If it turns out well, it is bravery. If everyone gets hurt or killed for no discernible reason, it is stupidity.
For instance, our guys in Iraq are brave, because they are defending themselves and trying to make a difference in that country. They risk their lives every minute of every day for our country's interests. They are away from their families and in great danger all the time.
The policies and president that sent them there, that's stupidity.
Think about a guy who throws himself on a grenade to save kids from a blast. Amazingly Brave and undeniably stupid.
The guy who saws his arm off with a pocket knife, and then sees the ambulance coming. Amazingly Brave and undeniably stupid.

Yes, there is a great difference. Bravery is the ability to act in the face of extreme danger or hardship to the benefit of those around you; stupidity is putting yourself in a dangerous situation that has no expectation of benefitting anybody. OUr soldiers are brave - drunk drivers are stupid.

Not much. It's better to be a live coward then a dead hero. My Grandfather was a war hero - the war messed up his mind. Of course, no one understood post traumatic stress disorder then. If he had been a coward - they would have shot him for being a coward. In his case, he lived and his mates lived because of his bravery - but was the life he came back to worth living?

Yes, a great difference. To be brave is to do the right thing in great peril to others, Being stupid is to rush in when you have no idea what is right or necessary. Sample: if you see a supposedly mugging, without knowing what is behind it, and it turns out to be officers arresting some murderer...stupid. But when you see an officer being gang injured and you help him...brave.

Depends on if the brave act works, if it doesn't people will say you were stupid to try.
The guy who stops a fight and gets away with it is brave, the one who gets hurt is told he should have left it till the police arrived. That's how it seems to work.

Drunk and brave is not brave at all, just bravado which is a different thing.

Bravery is going into your theology exam and simply writing "its subjective" and then leaving.
Stupidity is collecting your results.
