when it comes to katrina , the mayor left the city of new orleans before anyone else and the former governor did nothing , thats why shes the former governor.

personally i feel that its a smear tactic of the leftist media , not attacking the ppl that have countrol of the city and state , but just attacking bush .

so why didnt we get tons of news that the govenor and mayor did horrible jobs also ?

No it wasn't Bush's fault.

It became a p*ssing match between the governor and FEMA.

But the real fault lies with the citizens who chose to stay and who chose to live in an unsafe, hurricane prone city that is below sea level.

This is old news.
Bush put Michael Brown in charge of FEMA when he had no experience dealing with any kind of emergency.
He then told Brown,"you're doin a heckuva a job, Brownie".
This was when Brownie was clueless to the problem and wanted to get a haircut.
Bush was and is clueless.
Yes, the state and local officials do share some responsibility also.

How about he lied. If he knew that the levees would break then he SHOULD HAVE made attempts to help Americans. He was on vacation doing nothing, never mind appointing an imbecile "heckyva job" Mike.

"Initial reports of leaked video footage of top-level briefings held before the storm claimed that this video contradicted Bush’s earlier statements that no one anticipated the breach of the levees"

Because the levees were federal responsibility and disaster assistance is federal responsibility. Beyond that, having competent people in charge at the city, state and federal level is the responsibility of the respective layers of government. All failed at that.

Uh, there has been plenty of blame laid on all the govt. officials. The real person who was most at fault is Mr. Brown, the FEMA director.

You forgot to add Michael Brown into the list.
