If the winner of the game is New England I doubt they will go undefeated. The Colts may have a better chance.
The Pats have a tough schedule coming up, sure it shouldn't be too difficult for them and likely would still go undefeated up until the last game of the season when the play the Giants.
At that point the Pats will have won there division and clinched the playoffs, including a first round bye. They would have home field against any team except for possibly the Colts. The Giants will be in a race to make the playoffs either by winning there division in what is likely to be a close contest with the Cowboys or by 1 of the 2 wildcard spots. This final game could be do or die for the Giants when the Pats are already secure in the post season. That doesn't take into account the other tough teams NE has to play Philly, Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
The Colts have a fairly easy season after the NEw England game with the toughest games against San Diego and Baltimore. Of course the Colts have a far more difficult divison then New england and they have to finish up the season against Tennesee. Really the only team so far that's come close to beating them. But I think by the last game Tennessee will have 1 of the wildcard spots wraped up and Indy would be looking to finish the season undefeated so would likely play a number of there starters if not all for the record.

It really depends on who wins the game. Because if the Patriots win then obviously they clinch the division way before any other NFL team. Rather than risking injury I think Belichick might do the intelligent thing and rest his starters. If the Colts win it they have a better chance because the schedule is relatively soft for them and obviously they won't be able to clinch their division.
This is the year that these teams have the best chance to go undefeated because they are definitely well-ahead of the rest of the league.

I believe they will. Screw history, every team is different every year, just because in the past top teams have not made it to the superbowl doesn't mean either of these teams won't. Look at the Red Sox, number one all year and won the World Series, I know that's not football but it's a damn good example.
GO PATS!

i doubt it, BUT, if the pats get by this one, i think they are going to try and do that. you know what i'm saying? everybody plays week 17, no down weeks, etc....i really think bellicheck is gonna try and do it...i'm not saying they will, but i think they will really try and do the impossible. ie go undefeated.
IF they did that, it would validate bellicheck and the pats as possibly the best team ever. they would certainly have to be in the discussion. i think that sort of thing really appeals to bellicheck and the pats organization.

I doubt it. Some mediocre team will come into town, the undefeated team will come in and not take the game seriously enough, and there will be an upset. Happens every year.

Don't think so. Too much season left. I bet neither make it to the SB. Most top teams doen't make it. History is against them.
