Was there the "popular crowd", the "emo's", the "druggies", the "ghetto's", or all those other ridiculous labels? Were there actually normal people who were above appearances?

I like my HS because the "popular crowd" wasn't just snotty rich kids or some other stereotypical group like that. They were all (obviously) fairly attractive, but a lot of them were honors students and some were jocks, some were drama kids, some were band or choir kids. everyone basically got along at my school. I know everyone in my graduating class and keep in touch with all of them. The only problems with cliques we had were that we had a hispanic gang called Norte on campus

Norte doesn't let in girls (or so I've been told multiple times from different people), yet there was just this one group of girls that thought they were so bad ***. They'd walk around wearing the colors and pretend to be all gangster but basically they were just the biggest sluts in school that talked big and cried as soon as someone hit them (one of my friends got in a fight with one of them and tore a girl's earings off then broke her nose)

There was a lot of violence and drugs. Many students fought over girls, cliques, he-said/she-said, and territory. I remember when a student brought in a loaded gun (no one was shot or injured). The violence seemed to escalate in 2005 when two students died in a car accident. A lot of students who were close to the boys were pissed off about the accident and they took it out on other students. In January 2006 alone there were about 27 arrests, mostly for fighting. Being a student at my old high school was rough and unpredictable. When I talk to my friends who are still students there, I always get a sense that the school is still having problems.

There were:
Jocks - people who played sports
Brains / Geeks - smart people and nerds
Popular Crowd - well known people
Tech'ies - people who took vocational classes
Druggies - people who smoked pot

That's it... there were no EMOs or Ghettos.

i was always part of the average/normal kids....i was never in the popular crowd and wouldn't want to anyways.

high school sucked for me tho since my family was constantly moving....i went to 3 different high schools...sucked....most of the time, i was a loner....lol...

the whole school was druggies...rich and spoiled and it was actually optional because most the teachers would be bribed so all in all it wasn't the greatest school - but it really was when u had a gnarley case of senioritis all my four years

It seems like most have to fit in some kind of mold. I hated molds and tried to have friends in all the groups.
