I tried asking this is Society and Cluture, but no one understood it i dont think... so here i am!

Its a little known fact that Nikola Tesla invented a machine which would draw power out of the naturally occuring electric feilds of the earth and be able to send it wirelessly through the ground at almost any distance and with the capacity to send huge amounts of power this way. (Google patent search "Apparatus for transmitting electrical energy" by Nikola Tesla 1914). the only reason it didnt happen is because Thomas Edison insisted on using the wire system so that they could sell power by usage. This philosophy has lasted until this day, and very few people are aware of the alternative possibilities.

how would history have been different if free electric power were implemented in the 1910's? How would the world change today if we built enough of them to power the whole world?

btw, this machine is NOT a fake, it was tested and confirmed. if you want more info on workings, ask

Most of the people seeing your question consider it more important to correct your misconceptions about Tesla than to answer your real hypothetical question. Tesla's apparatus was for transmitting energy, not generating it. Avoid confusing and distracting people by asking your question in a neutral way. Ask about whichever hypothetical situation you care about. In 1915:

1. If electric energy could be transmitted without loss and without wires, how would the world be different?

2. If electricity arrived at each point of use without limit and without cost, how would the world be different?

Actually, it was not Edison who killed it. It was Telsa's BACKER, George Westinghouse. When he realized the device would put FREE electricity in every household, he pulled the plug. If there was no profit in it, there was no point.

And the machine transmitted the energy through the air. A miscalculation by Tesla resulted in the Tungska blast in Russia in 1908.

Tesla was a genius far beyond anything this world has seen since him. All current particle accelerator weapsons are based on HIS designs from the 30s. He was simply so FAR ahead of everyone else it is indescribable.
