Since everyone always says Christmas is commercial and greedy, what are you planning to do about it to change it for yourself and your familiy? Obviously you can't change it for the world, but what if anything do you plan to do differently to make it less commercial for you?

Old fashioned meaning not spending hardly anything. Making things instead of buying them. Baking, interacting with each other, etc. Doing things like you did at Christmas during your childhood when life was much simpler and less greedy than it is now.

We will for various reasons most to do with budget and choices.Low budget and few choices,however we always have a great time,no one ever gets too much expensive stuff it depends how the birthdays went if they get lots then,Christmas will be slim I have 9 people to buy for all others get cards,either handed or mailed.We decorate to the hilt,buy as much food as possible ,I mean the things we don't buy all year,that makes it special.Last year spent a total of about $200.00 and everyone was happy.I also do baking for Friends so its loads of fun and not stressful at all.We won't be using as many lights this year,instead lots of candlesProbally only have one tree instead of the usual 5 all thought the house(should save on electricity) we will be using live greenery as much as possible,popcorn,old fashion candies peppermint sticks,are already planned in.I once was given a large peppermint stick that you just break it was so much and lasted so long learned how to use it baking,that was fun.You should try peppermint biscuits,with chocolate gravy yum.I don't know if that's what you meant but it will all be low key,no splashy gifts,lots of fun and enjoy the season Merry Christmas to you.

We will in our home. I hate the Christmas commercials. The business in the stores. The traffic jams during and after holiday season shoppings. I got my presents already. I am done. I have three little presents for my better half. And purchased one for my self. I might have friends come over the weekend before. I celebrate low key. its going on my nerves.

i cant afford it because of how much everything has gone up and thanks giving is out to so the kids can thank George bush and clowns
