Lincoln.
However, any comparison to Lincoln and today's Repubs can be in party affiliation only.

Modern Repubs are polar opposites to Abraham Lincoln.

Theodore Roosevelt, though he is more like a modern day Democrat. During his first term he was a Republican. When the Republicans rejected his progressive and conservationist policies he formed the Bull Moose Party and won a second term. In modern times the only good decent Republican was Eisenhower.

presidents a million-8 have been fairly sturdy, as have been 10, 11, and 12. all something sucked for my area. After 12, there replaced into little recognize for the form, and by using the time Lincoln took workplace the rustic replaced into damned, besides the reality that Andrew Johnson replaced into ok in my e book.

Abraham Lincoln--ended slavery, held the union together.

Teddy Roosevelt--ended the period of the 'robber barons', broke up monopolies, worked to give the working guy an even break in 'the progressive era'.

In fact beside those two I can't think of a single Republican president who was any good at all.

I'm not that old, so in my opinion, i have to say George Bush SR. He was by no means a great president, but i think he was way more in touch than his son and at least he used some common sense....i know lincoln was the popular answer, but none of us were alive then, so how can he be your favorite. Its like asking someone who your favorite baseball player is and you say babe ruth, how, you didn't see him play, lol.

If you are referring to the modern day republican - I'll say none. But as far as the republicans of yester-year, it's a toss up between Teddy R. & Abe L.
