The planet will be fine. Some species may die out or have to evolve. Things may be a little difficult for humans in the future but the earth will continue with or without us. I think humans need to get together and fix the mess they've created though. A lot of things could get better in the world if we could stop burning things (yep, even biofuel) for fuel and use the free clean energy from sun, wind, water and heat from inside the earth.
Too many people are waiting for God to come and rescue them from their self-created dungheaps. The Bible says we are to be stewards of the earth, savvy? Even if you believe in the Rapture, it's no excuse not to take care of the sacred gift God gave you.

Well because the sun is a star it will dwarf, in the process taking our little solar system with it in it's fatal demise. Luckily, that won't be for another billion or few years tops. Perhaps by then we might find away to journey into other galaxies and find life or create it artificially so that the human race might be able to survive. But if you are talking about current conditions and the whole global warming issue, personally I feel if the world pulls together and helps expand and utilize the tools we have to decrease the rate of global warming, then survival is possible.

no unfortunately i do not. unless god was trying to scare us by having dozens of prophets predict the earth will end in 2012 during the winter equinox on dec 21, which i doubt. so many ppl have predicted the end over the last 2000 yrs. it is very scary but the evidence is overwhelming. i live in Massachusetts and on oct 23 it was 82 degrees outside. it was very eerie. ppl were at the beach. i believe the world is too corrupt to be saved but all we can is pretend we don't even know. it is nov 2 and today it is 61 degrees and we have more warm days ahead. stand by the ppl you love and make sure they are with you in dec of 2012. supposedly the gravity of the moon and sun will for the first time pull on the earth and the axis will shift causing the tectonic plates to shift resulting in utter devastation. i hope it does not happen but i know god will make it right in the end.

George Bush just two answers above me!! Your a mental midget. Let me guess, both your parents are Republican so you just followed suit. You probably have no idea about any political points or platforms at all. Your answer is old and tired and have heard it once or twice while passing the sorority house at my college. Try and think for your self. Typical canned response from a piker member of the Young Republicans club at the local junior high school.

Mankind won't be saved, & I think that's your actual question. Earth may temporarily save herself, but the Sun will definitely explode in the future & this rock will be destroyed in the process.

The planet is not in an immediate danger, only life on earth can become extinct, but total extinction is not any of the possible scenes, we humans just might survive the ongoing extinction, but I'm certain cockroaches will survive.
