You're changing to a drastically different field of work. Sometimes that's necessary to keep food on the table.

You're also hitting the retail industry at their busiest season. I would definitely recommend getting into something that could be related to what you were doing. (ie retail at sears in to Tool department. Sears (use to) pay commission to sales people in the tool department, not sure if they still do).
Or do retail at an auto parts store where your knowledge can help others.

Just like they say "if you put your mind to it anything is possible". Your feeling nervous is normal and you'll get through it. Just do the best you can. If your a family man it shouldn't matter what it is, being a husband and/or father. If you are a family man you have to be the best provider you can be. It's a little different when your single and just looking out for yourself. Don't be big headed either if you think running a cash register is a low status compared to your proficiency in auto mechanics. The type of work you do doesn't define who you are. It's how you carry yourself. Besides your in the best place to meet new people whom you can have small conversations with. You never know you may be servicing a Manager of a auto shop and many others. At the same time you can meet new co-workers and customers and you may come to find out that they have auto problems. There you go "side jobs" and some times those pay more than what you did before. Best of Luck!

there is reward on the two components: Sticking to a minimum of one pastime for an prolonged era shows which you have committment and loyalty. You learn the indoors workings of the enterprise. As an authority in this container you will in basic terms understand this enterprise. changing jobs additionally shows which you prefer to learn new skills and get to appreciate diverse human beings and new human beings. you would be a 'jack of all trades' yet perhaps 'grasp of none'. in my view that isn't any longer suitable which path you're taking at the instant, as long as you swap it right into a favorable... eg... corporation: So Mr Peplu, I see which you have had numerous jobs interior the previous 3 years- grew to become into there any specific clarification for that? Peplu: This has surely worked out in my income as I surely have learnt new working practices and have been given to fulfill some stunning human beings! the main considerable subject is which you swap something that must be damaging into something it somewhat is beneficial.
