do any of us really know all the circumstances involved? Maybe she wasn't paying attention when she was driving, but that describes the majority of people driving. It could've been a true "accident'. It doesn't seem to be an intentional thing. As far as I know she wasn't drinking, so there was nothing criminal.
From what I've read she was on the freeway going 65 (which I believe is the speed limit) and the cars slowed down for some reason, she didn't notice and rear ended a 2005 Toyota. The Toyota then hit a 1989 Toyota. The 2005 Toyota then slid sideways and hit the center divider. As the 2005 Toyota came to a halt, it was struck by a 1988 Acura. It sounds like it was all an accident. How many times have any of us been caught when traffic slows down quickly in front of you. Don't you breath a sigh of relief when you can stop in time and haven't you seen others rear end someone when they can't.
Brandy should receive some sort of punishment (fines, community services, etc) but if it was just an accident and not something intentional or criminal then why should she go to prison. If this were an average, everyday person they propably wouldn't be charged or would just receive the fines, etc. You say you are sick of people defending her because she's "Brandy" but you seem to want excessive punishment for her because she is "Brandy." Yes, it is sad that someone died, but it does seem to be an accident. Everyone has accidents from time to time. But to say someone needs to do "heavy jail time" for an unintentional act is mean.

Brandy should be held accountable for what she did but she shouldn't go to jail. It was an accident people. Yes she was speeding, and her car hit another car which crossed the median and hit the woman's car who died. It was almost like a chain reaction. Maybe she should be charged with reckless driving or whatever is appropriate but I don't think she should go to jail. I think she should obviously have to pay restitution to the victims family and do community service of some type. Brandy wasn't found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs nor was she talking on her cell phone. Accidents like this happen everyday and unfortunately people die. If anything the victims family should hit her in the pocket books.

Kind of. In Los Angeles., she was driving a Land Rover at 65 mph and did not notice that cars in front of her had slowed considerably. Brandy's vehicle struck a 2005 Toyota. The Toyota then hit a 1989 Toyota. The 2005 Toyota then slid sideways and hit the center divider. As the 2005 Toyota came to a halt, it was struck by a 1988 Acura. The driver of the 2005 Toyota, a 38 year old mother, died the next day.

If anybody is guilty of causing a death by careless or dangerous driving, then yes they should receive a custodial sentence. I don't know the ful circumstances of her case, but if her driving was below a reasonable standard and she caused a death, even though it wasn't intentional, she should go to jail and not receive special treatment because she is a talented celebrity

I see I'm not the only one who watched TMZ the other night. I agree with you. I'm tired of these so-called stars being treated as if the laws do not apply to them. I did hear that Brandy paid the family alot of money though. But that still does no bring back lost life.

I was not even aware of this, but I agree with Lanie. She should be charged with manslaughter and spend maybe six months in prison, then either be put or work release for two months, or do community service for that time, judge's decision. After that, she should do a nationwide tour of high schools, explaining the dangers of speeding.

Yes! I think she should go to jail! She killed someone accidentally but that does not take away the fact that that person is dead.
