I was driving my dodge neon with the ebrake on..lol isnt that crazy? Anyway...i only drove it for like 7 mins no higher than 2nd gear...i didnt really notice it till i kept hearing a grinding noise when i tried to reverse. What does this damage if you repeatedly do this?

Grinding was the Rear Brakes! Time for Rear Brake Job and Check the Ebrake Cable and Adjustment1

You can/will damage the rotors/drums by overheating them. They can and will warp meaning replacement or at the very least turning. Pads can become glazed on the surface from the overheating that can occur usually resulting in decreased braking performance. Usually requires pad replacement as a minimum to restore your braking performance. Take your car and have it inspected by YOUR mechanic that you trust. Don't walk into Midas and tell them this .....they will tell you that you need to replace everything when in fact it may not be that serious. Best to have them inspected thoroughly and NOT mention what you did with the e-brake. A good mechanic will locate and tell you the issues if you have them with your rear brakes and nothing more.

Probably wear the brakes out and make your fuel economy go down.

it overheats and "glazes" the pads so they don't work as well anymore. It also over heats and can warp rotors or drums.
