I find it common really.
Many people I come across are really blinded by pride, usually it causes them to reject something even if it is right.
Blame it on the schools, the parents, society, mtv or even the chlorine in the water.
Its just one of the sad things in this world.

Maybe it is the responsibility of those who think they are smart to educate them without confronting their pride.

I guess you can spend your time fixing the problem rather than complaining about it.

Commonly today that people who claim to be smart have no patience to share it with anyone else, greed, pride or just plain selfish. I guess everyone is stupid in a way...
Smart people complaining about something that they should fix rather than whine.

Come to think of it, people expect morality to be instilled by society, but yet expect intellect to be developed by the person on their own..
If you look at it deep enough, you will see that arrogant people who think they are smart and yet do nothing to help others....
Well they are mostly the problem.

This issue is similar to people who shake their fists at a deity and says "why arent you doing anything about famine in africa"

while holding a thick wad of cash in their hands.

And so I find human ignorance less amazing than human arrogance.

Hello,

It all depends though on what your criteria is for being stupid.
Is someone who believes that men walked with dinosaurs a stupid person or is someone who cannot excel in advanced calculus, physical chemistry or quantum mechanics stupid?

I would say there are many who are foolish, IE intelligent but do not know how to use and apply their skills at times or others who just are not interested in learning many things.
As an example it takes the same brain power to be able to memorize the NFL line up or soap opera stars as it does to know about the lives of the Julio - Claudian dynasty in Ancient Rome or the line up for the Metropolitan opera.

I ponder this question every single day. I find it truly amazing that the human race has come as far as it has.
