I am 25 years old now, but i went to a private boarding school in Switzerland and its was a good experience coz i went when i was 16 for 2 years. I would never send a child there when they are young though. and i mean any type of boarding school. I have seen kids that were there from 9 years old and they were a mess. Older kids do enjoy it though and i had a good time. It provided great education and i was able to attend excellent college and now finishing my masters. I think boarding schools specially private ones have great infrastructure and therefore can offer a lot more to kids then regular schools do, but i do feel that kids need parents and boarding school cant offer that.

Boarding schools are more expensive than prep or private schools, but are proven to prepare the student for college better than all other kind of school. They require the student to sleep there.
