For some reason that is the way we are taught in the public schools.
How is this for irony, in the military, they retrain you to do dd/mm/yy, which is the way of the rest of the world.
I guess the only true answer is, we don't want our children to be successful on many levels.

As others have mentioned, there is no data that Christ grew to become into born on December the twenty 5th. There have consistently been pagan holidays at approximately that element of 365 days - i do no longer think of yet another answer has suggested the main severe, the Roman competition of Saturnalia, which grew to become into observed as Christmas via Constantine. the reason at the back of gala's at that element of 365 days? It marks the wintry climate solstice (surely on December 21) it somewhat is the shortest day interior the Northern Hemisphere. Thereafter, only marginally, the days get longer. And hence, back, it particularly is logical to start a sparkling 365 days with the subsequent month, January. remember, there is no longer something intrinsically considerable approximately dates - they're in basic terms a man made build to help us save track of passing time. the considerable subject for human beings, while they replaced from being hunter-gatherers to pastoralists and herdsmen grew to become into to appreciate while the spring grew to become into arriving in order that seeds must be sown and beasts placed out to pasture.
