Of course. That's happened to most people.

I just ignored them. Those who knew me, knew what this person was saying was untrue. Those who chose to believe the lies weren't really my friends to begin with.

Yes, it´s been a while. But sometimes it still hurts! I was here in the local police station, to ask about my rights and for saving me (if there comes more trouble from this person). Than i spreaded around, that i´ve been to a lawer and the police depardement..;0) than this person stopped her dirty game. Just for case, that she continue her game.. I´d asked 1-2 persons who was whitnes, while she spread those lies, if they would go with me to the police and tell them what´s going on.

yes.. I think just about everybody out there has been the subject of rumor/lies. There are a few things you can do about it, one including ignoring it- who really cares what other people think- your true family/friends will not care what others think. Or you can confront the person doing it- this I enjoy the most beacuse people that spead rumors and lies are chicken shi*.

Yeah, my psycho soon-to-be EX husband lies in court. Perjury. It's really incredible. We get sworn in and he lies.
He's the one who cheated while I stayed home with the kids. I never cheated. He was jealous that I watched football on t.v. But the judge didn't even want to hear it. Not from me or from him. So who cares!

Sure it happens to everyone. What to do? Well, I've heard this expression that I think applies:

Those that matter won't care and those that care don't matter.

I put out the word that if they were going to talk about me then they should have the courage to come and talk to me.

i just ignored it. if you confront the person they will know it hurts you and they keep doing it just because they want to get under your skin.
