We are staying in Provincetown and Plymouth for the weekend. Are we going to be in any danger because of the hurricane that is suppose to blow by the edge of Cape Cod this weekend?

I know that the hurricane is coming and I have watched the weather channel but what I am asking is how safe is the area. I will be staying in Provincetown and Plymouth. I need to know if the area is safe to stay in with a hurricane coming or if I need to get a hotel more inland.

Worry not.

By the time Noel arrives it will not be a hurricane but just a very severe nor'easter.

Because tropical systems do not have as long a fetch as winter storms and are in warmer air in fact winter nor'easters
of colder, denser 60mph winds are much more damanging than anything Noel will deliver. Still, watching the waves from the bluffs overlooking the Atlantic in Provincetown should be impressive.

From what I've heard, the Outer Cape(Provincetown) will feel the brunt of the storm.Sheets of rain and possibly 80 mph winds. You're probably not really in a lot of danger but it doesn't sound like much fun!
