You don't "have to" do this to your child! What if he decides he does not want to follow your religion? That does happen, you know. At least rites like baptism don't permanently mutilate the infant's body the way circumcision does. If HE wants to sacrifice the most sensitive part of his penis when he is older, fine, but it is wrong for you to choose to sacrifice part of HIS body to YOUR religion.

I consider it an insult to God to say that you have a better idea of how the male body OUGHT to look than the design the Creator of Heaven and Earth decided on.

The health insurance plans do not provide non-therapeutic ritual circumcision. You will have to pay the entire cost out of pocket.

The practice of medically-unnecessary, non-therapeutic child male circumcision has been declining for decades in Canada. Although many older Canadian males were circumcised decades ago, they are dying off. In the present day, few boys are circumcised. Intact boys are the NORM everywhere in Canada.

The French-speaking people generally do not favor circumcision.

Male circumcision is offensive to the culture of Inuit, First Nations, and Métis populations.

The Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) has favored genital integrity (non-circumcision) for children since 1975. The CPS says circumcision should not be routinely performed (meaning that circumcision should only be performed when needed to treat existing disease).

The fourteen health insurance plans stopped paying for non-therapeutic, medically-unnecessary circumcision a decade or more ago. Parents who want a child circumcised must pay out of pocket.

When boys in Canada are circumcised, it is usually because the father is circumcised, not because of medical need. The number of circumcised fathers is gradually declining, so the incidence of circumcision of boys is also declining. Fewer than 1/3 of Canadian boys are circumcised these days.

A survey of mothers carried out nearly a decade ago found that about 31 percent of boys were circumcised.

Since the practice is in a long-term decline, it is likely that the rate of circumcision is even lower today. Foreskinned boys are in the majority in every province and territory.

The rate varied from province to province but in all provinces and territories, non-circumcised foreskinned boys were in the majority. Newfoundland boys are almost never circumcised.

Any religious reasons are long past. You missed the 8 day mark by a long shot. Doctors do not perform religious circumcisions.

Besides many Jewish and Muslim parents are saying NO to infant genital reduction surgery! No other religion requires this bizzare sacrifice.

Leave his penis alone. He can decide if he wants to amputate sensitive body parts when he is old enough to understand the meaning of the sacrifice.

That's ridiculous, your child is an individual and their body is not yours to modify for YOUR religious beliefs. (Unless this 18 month old has happily consented to the religion and mutilation, which I doubt.)

If you were going to do it, you should have got it done at birth.

The last time I checked it is about $150.00. Check with your family doctor as you may need a referral another doctor or he maybe able to do it. If you have a paediatrician check with him/her.

i doubt you 'have' to do anything. Why don't you schedule a clitorectomy for yourself while your in there, I'm sure god would be happy for your sacrifice.
