Does wave actually exist or It is only a quality for physical phenomena?

A wave is "just" a propagating disturbance (I guess you could call that a quality) of a continuous medium and yet ironically, waves do indeed exist. Why on earth do you think there is a distinction between those two categories? Most people's world view is bizarrely metaphysical. The other day in YA physics someone answered with what he thought happens in the real world "as opposed to the physics". And, he was talking about the operation of a simple purely mechanical device. Very strange.

in my own words a wave is a form of disturbance that does not exist but can be created after some certain procedures
