It's buffering. That means that the internet connection to whichever site you're viewing your videos from isn't as fast as others. The player that you're using i.e., Windows Media Player, Real Player, Winamp, VLC Media Player, is having to pause until such time as there's more information in the buffer.

What you can try doing is clicking on the pause button, once you've clicked on the page to start loading the video (or audio) to allow the buffer to fill some before clicking on the play button.

Don't forget, you're probably not the only one logged onto any given site at any particular time, hence they have to share the bandwidth as best they can.

hi mate
yes this is the buffering .which is basically the "data stream" which downloads the images when watched in a video
even with the fast broadband speeds we can experience these days video still takes quite long to load a video, and when the video plays faster than it is downloading this is when your video will freeze or jump
there is a way to stop this,on yahoo videos(especially launchcast)you can alter the level of video quality, just lower this down and you video will load quicker and you will experience fewer freezes, however the quality of playback visually will be not as good
you can also buy a better network card to improve connection speeds,i have seen a network card called the "KillerNIC M1 Gigabit Desktop PCI Network Adapter" from http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-001-KN&groupid=46&catid=1002&subcat=,this is a mega fast network card using a 400MHz NPU (network processing unit) and is ideal for online gamers and video streamers, its very expensive but a ideal long term investment
this is currently the only network card of its type avalible and is a amazing bit of kit
for a more reasonable fast network card the Intel PRO/1000 PT Gigabit Desktop PCI-Express Network Adapter from http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-000-IN&groupid=46&catid=1002&subcat=,is a good card, however it uses a pci-express x 1 slot so you need one of them slots avalible
a good pci slot network card is the Linksys WMP300N 300Mbps Wireless Desktop PCI Network Adapter from http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-048-LS&groupid=46&catid=1002&subcat=,a excellent low priced network card
i hoped this has helped
good luck mate !
