A coda isn't just for guitar; it's a pretty standard music notation. It means to return to a previously marked place in the music....usually used for repetition means only.

"Coda" in music notation (not just guitar music) is a section of music that is often a special end-phrase, or a section that might be repeated... "D.S. al Coda" means to go that section (the "Coda") and play it.
