when you play war of warcraft as a free 10 day trial account does the account get deleted and the names of the characters become available again?

If you pay for your account after that, you get to keep the names. I don't think they will ever go back into general circulation, unless you delete the character.

I could not find a definitive time frame, however I do know that they "hold" the account for quite a while, to give you an opportunity to purchase and activate a subscription, I would venture a safe guess, of at least 90 days if not longer. It's in their interest to not delete your 10 days of effort, and know that just because you started the trial today, doesn't mean payday is tomorrow. I recall when I used the trial, that I didn't activate right away, and when I did it was at least 20 days later, and everything was exactly as the day I last logged in.

No the trial account will not be deleted. If the time expires you can also log into your account manager at www.worldofwarcraft.com, and purchase more time/use a game card, you just wont be able to log into your acccount. None of your characters will be deleted
