Sure he is .....Just like when he helped his wife Tipper years ago , when they tried to ban certain types of music , the group was the PMRC , they tried , banning rock , and rap such as two live crew ...they settled out of court , and were allowed to put warning labels on music , which is why wal mart sells mostly censored music , because her buddy Hillary was over the board of directors at wal mart , when this happened , ..like the music or not , it was censorship , ...Al Gore does and says what the main stream elite do , and say ... He has always tried being the center of attention , and have a rock star image , although he tried to ban rock music .. Sounds hypocritical doesn't it ......
Some believe Al Gore is god because he " invented the internet " although that saying was taken out of context...some praise his wife because without her PMRC , and backing the AFA ( American Family Association) the group 2 live crew would have never gotten banned , and music would never have warning labels .......right ......Wrong ...because the warning labels do no good , it just made the price of purchasing double ...they temporarily stopped 2 live crew , ...No they made them more famous , and opened the door to more explicit forms of music .....and again like it or not , it is a form of free speech .don't like it ..don't buy it .simple , why couldn't Mrs.Gore think of that .....

Al Gore did the global warming awarness concerts , ( which helped harm the very thing he want to save ( enviroment) all the tour buses ,and private jets for him ,and the bands , all the milluions of empty plastic water bottles left behimd , and the bands were not all that great ...I guess his awards were for his research on the enviromet , he concluded , and proved with concerts ,and his own personal lifestyle , that you first have to destroy the enviroment that way you have something to save ......Yay Al ..you da man ...

So do this , go research the Gore history , you will actually find out they have been rewarded for doing absolutly Nothing

I do not say global warming is not happening , but truth is it is mostly nature taking it's course , humans contribute less than Al says ....

No, he's not... and unlike those who just say "and thousands of scientists concur with him" (which is false, by the way...) I have some easy-to-verify proof that he isn't. Let's have a look at the real case here (and I've said this before):

1. Global Warming is happening. Is there any doubt? No. Temperatures are being measured and recorded and there is no arguing with cold, hard facts. Therefore I shall not even entertain anyone saying that it doesn't exist and I'll chuckle at you if you accuse me of being a 'naysayer' on the topic.

2. Too many people are rushing to the assumption that CO2 in the atmosphere is the cause of this warming and therein lies the problem. There is NO conclusive evidence that this is the case. Al Gore's version of Global Warming depends on you buying into that theory. Truth is, there's significantly more evidence supporting it not being CO2 driven, but this evidence is suppressed by those who have an agenda to push here. After all, fear of Global Warming can cause people to react financially... by doing things like purchasing Carbon Credits from snake oil salesmen like Al Gore.

3. Let's assume, for the sake of complicity, that it's CO2. OK? Let's assume, and ignore the warming on Mars... and ignore the fact that we're seeing increased solar output... and ignore all the other factors that could be contributing... let's say it's totally CO2. Man creates about 2% (and that's being generous) of the CO2 in the atmosphere... so now, on top of the leap of faith required to accept that it IS carbon, we're to buy into the idea that the 2% we create is the cause of the warming and the 98% that is naturally produced has nothing at all to do with it. To quote a certain friend of Al Gore's ~ "requires a willing suspension of disbelief".

4. Even the experts cited by Al Gore in his "Inconvenient Truth" Science Fiction movie... have come out and stated that the events he portrays as being imminent (as in, within 20 years) are actually based on computer models of unchanged warming rates over a millennium. Isn't that 1000 years, Al? Not 20? Let me look that up on your internet... uh, yup. Check your math, Al... looks a little Fuzzy to me.

So to all of you who say you believe Al Gore actually believes what he's saying, I ask you this:
Why is he still flying around in a private jet then?
Why is he throwing energy away with his mansion?
Did you know George Bush has a completely energy-efficient ranch in Crawford TX? Bet you didn't. Why isn't Al doing that? Why doesn't he have Ed Begley Jr. show him how?

Because he KNOWS it's not Carbon Dioxide doing it.
That's why. We all know the effects lead paint has on us...do we still paint our kids' cribs with it? Do we disregard this?
So, now, wait... let's look at this from another angle:

It takes three things to find someone guilty of a crime:
Means, Motive and Opportunity.

As a former Vice President and possessing enough wealth to be available to push this agenda, he has access to the media and the public forums necessary to spread his message, so he has the means and opportunity.
As a member of the board for the company selling these 'Carbon Credits', he stands to gain a great deal of wealth if he can sell enough people on this theory of his, so he has motive.
Hmmm...

Now ~ a footnote:
Do I believe we should be more environmentally conscious? Yes.
Do I believe we need to get off our dependency on fossil fuels?
Yes.
Do I believe that we CAN affect the atmosphere of the Earth?
Somewhat, yes, but not on the order that the alarmists would have you believe. At any rate, I believe any detrimental effect we have that can be avoided... should be.

So... in a nutshell, how about we do the right thing for the right reasons and stop letting a hypocrite get rich off of fear...
and if there are any enterprising lawyers out there...
there's gonna be one heck of a class-action opportunity against Mr. Gore for his Carbon Credit scam as soon as the evidence proves him wrong.
Personally, I have my own theory on what is happening but it's involved and I don't want to go on and on any longer than I already have... and I'm still researching it since I don't make statements without supporting evidence.

I believe he is . I also believe he is with holding evidence more frightening. If you look at sites like Weird Science, Live Science they have some really good info on this.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/10/23/AR2007102302056.html

Extinctions linked to Hotter Temperatures. (sorry I can not get the link tuned in but it states w/in 100 yrs almost half of our known species will be extinct ... I will leave this link up because it also pertains to the arguments what the heck is really going on ?!)

I believe that most scientist delve into theory. SO , no real test can be proven here. Yet if the measurement s are close we are into something. And it may work well for the planet Earth and not so good for the inhabitants. Remember we lost dinosaurs once upon a time also. Fire regenerates the soil...

Gore has worked on this for decades. This time I believe him. Yet, do not count him out for altering data. He took a NASA pilot survey back when about airline safety, did not like the results and instructed all to delete files? He is an on the fence man in my book.

no, he is out to make a buck, just like everyone else who scaremongers and refuses to look at opposing views that are just as legitimate if not more legitimate then his arguements, he is not interested in the enviroment, but he sure would love to be in the limelight, making all kinds of no bid contracts to himself, his friends and basically rake the money in before the economy collapses, or the very least he would liek to speed up the collapse by co2 taxes that would go to the UN, and would not do anything about global warming but will bring everyone's living standards down quite a bit and hurt local economies thus making them ripe for megacorp takeovers.

. a person who truly believes in something not true and pushes the agendas for that cause is just a misled fool, but someone who deliberatly pushes ideas they know are false to furthur some greedy agenda that makes that one a very bad person indeed.

RRRRR

Al Gore is simply saying what the scientists are telling him.

To call Al Gore a liar is to call thousands of climate scientists liars too.

You can call Al Gore a hyporcrite or whatever you want, but he's got the basic facts about global warming right.

There is no doubt that global warming is occurring. The doubt comes into play when asked what is causing this warming to occur. Depends on which scientist you ask. I watched Naked Science last night and this was the topic. They all agree that it is happening, just their theories are all different about why it is occurring. From man made pollutants to solar particals, solar flare ups to the earth is losing it's magnetism. Your guess is as good as mine on the cause. I just happen to agree with why add to the problem if you can avoid doing so. It will be little things that make a difference. I am not suggesting everyone quit driving their car either.

The truth is global warming is happening . As smart as we are people tend to disagree on how fast it will happen .

Will we have major Ice loss over the next 20 years and a sea level rise of three foot . Possibly , according to some computer models .

Whats causing it is a rise in global climate temperatures . Science has linked CO2 levels to such a rise and thus its fair to say yes Gore is telling the truth as he understands it .

To an extent...I mean the earth is warming a bit, but really thats all the truth there is...honestly its just another cycle....when the ice age came about who was to blame? The animals? I dont think so, its all just a phase!

No he is not. His agenda is institute a carbon tax. Nasa is withholding it's discovery that our sun is getting hotter. Surfaces of moons around Jupiter and Saturn that are normally frozen are now becoming liquid and the ice caps on Mars are receding. Global warming is coming from outside our atmosphere, not from within it.
