I have known 2 prostitutes. One was a streetwalker. She did it chiefly for economic reasons. I met her through a friend who had decided to become a call girl. Her major reason was financial, and she had lots of spare time and found the whole thing very dangerous and exciting. It was not about the sex for her, instead, she says it was about the control. Despite my trying to talk her out of it, she was a call girl for three years and made about $350,000, which was enough to pay for her education and living expenses. As far as I know she never went back to it.

Generaly the lure of money leads people to prostitution for what ever reason. Understanding mens sexuality probably makes it an easier transition.

I believe prostitutes are sperm receptacles for a price and they really don't much care nor understand a man's desire.
Men are transactions only...and the cash flow is always there...that's the understanding you'll get

It's definately for financial reasons. It's a quick way to make money that's tax free. And I'm not sure about all people in the sex industry being gay.

Maybe some are....but just because you wanted to please a woman and be desired would you be a prositute? Probably not...so therefore it is about money. Nobody would wanna purposely degard themselves that bad without a good cost for it in thier eyes, like for food or drugs.

I think it's an economic or social reason, at least in this and most western societies. Where it is an acceptable practice, I'm sure that the pleasure aspect may enter into to it as well.

I think the majority of the time their reasons are economic. I'm sure their are some who enjoy the sex industry for some reason or another, but they are by far the minority.

No. I think ppl are prostitutes because of emotional or physical abuse, becuase of a tragedy in their lives, becuase it was the easiest way to get money, ect. ect.
I think they GAIN an unforturnate knowledge of sexuality in it's most selfish form.
