Because pets show unconditional love all the time not sometime or whenever a family member is in the mood to show it. Also a pet is always there for you to brighten up your day if it has been bad. There is a uplifting of the spirits when you come home from a hard day at work or school, and your pet runs to greet you wagging their tails, purring or even chirping happily that you have come home!

I wouldn't say I love my pets more than I love my family! I have different depths of feelings for all the people and animals I'm lucky enough to spend my life with. The one thing I can guarantee with my pets is, they don't judge me by what I say, or what I wear or what things I like to do or not! They even allow me to be 'a bit down' and offer comfort without asking why I feel this way and then telling me how to fix things!

I wouldn't say that I love my cat more than my family but I probably love him just as much! My cat and I have such a connection. I know some people wouldn't understand that but if you have a pet you love this much you do! He know's when I'm down and is always there for me. He never talks back. He rarely does things that make me mad. He's an amazing animal. He frequently "talks" to me and my husband. He'll meow, and we'll say something and he'll meow again. It's adorable! Now if that doesn't make you see why people love their pets so much... but I love him like he's family, not more than family.

As long as you take proper care of them pets will love you no matter what. Families often do not come close to that, and some families don't deserve it as much as the pets do. The pets don't care if you are broke, haven't had a shower, don't have an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, etc. In other words, they love simply for being you, and not what your family expects you to be.

If you're unfortunate enough to come from a dysfunctional family (like me) then it's easy to love your pets more. People who don't have families often find that they have to make one. I have two kittens that make me very happy, and I'm not worried about being alone or having people around. My animals love me more than my family ever has or ever will.

They listen, don't often answer back, and give unconditionally. Well, not to sure about the unconditional bit.... waggle either fish or chicken in front of my cats and their yours even more than usual, up until the time the food goes on the plate of course !!
The cat likes having her feet tickled as well.

Pets don't cheat on you with your best friend. Pets don't eat that last doughnut that you were saving for after college. Pets don't forget to put the toilet seat down. Pets cant speak and say annoying things like 'Have you put on weight?' or 'How come you're not clever like our Elle?'
I don't have pets, by the way, but I can see why people do.

They don't-it's just that if you're having a rough time with family, then pets make a great outlet for all the love and attention we'd love to give to our family too.Love's unconditional, and pets are totally unjudgemental xx

Because animals are non-judgmental & they give unconditional love. Many people don't have familes who give them the things they need & animals do.
I do NOT love our pets more than my family, but most of the time I sure as heck prefer them over the general population.....

i dont really think i love my pets more than my family (two dogs...a pug and a husky)
but, yeah i love those two guys unconditionally...they are animals, even if they do wrong, they really cant do wrong...they dont fully think and understand things, while people do...people lie, cheat, decieve...my pets, aside from trying to pretend like they didnt take a poop downstairs give me truth and unconditional love back. we have this mutual relationship, so long as i take care fo them, they take care of me...
family doesn't work that tway all the time.
