I hope to see the address. I just added another name to my list. My friend just found out that her son was deployed to Iraq last week, his second tour. Prayers to all our soldiers.

This is a nice idea. I live in an area close to both an Army and an Air Force base, so there's not a lot of need to look far afield for a soldier to cheer up. The families of these people are also serving by being without one or more parent for months at a time, and living with the knowledge that at any moment they could get a message that their loved one was injured or killed. Some of these not-so-temporarily single parents have one or more special needs kids--more than a handful with two parents on hand. The counselor at one of the schools has a special "club" for kids of deployed parents, and that helps a lot. We have people in my church with deployed family members. If you live near a place where the families of soldiers live, please remember them. While their loved ones who are in harm's way are often thought of at times like this, the families are often forgotten. Just because they are home, they aren't necessarily doing all that well.
