We like the name Delilah Ann for our daughter, but her initials will be DAM. I think she'll get teased, but my wife doesn't think it is a big deal. What does everyone think?

I went to college with a girl who's initials were SOB. If she hadn't pointed it out, no one would have known. Kids are going to be cruel no matter what you do. If you and your wife agree on the name, by all means go for it. I don't think it'll be a big deal. The only time it would ever come up is if you have something monogramed for school and then it wouldn't matter like someone else said b/c the last name goes in the middle most of the time. Just don't have her initials put on her bookbag for school unless you leave out the middle initial.

Delilah Ann is a beautiful name!
I think that sometimes parents over-analyze that kind of stuff. Kids are cruel at times but I think more of them would think that having DAM as initials would be "cool"... :)

The name is really sweet. I keep hearing all these new songs with Delilah and love them. Maybe choose another middle name???? But it is true that kids can be mean and will most likely tease her. And when she'll be working she'll most likely use her initials. I know with our firm we always use initials. Something definitely to consider.

A lot of people don't give a thought to initials, but I always do...my youngest son was going to be named Matthew Ryan & our last name begins with an "S"...which would make his initials MRS....I just couldn't do that to him....so we named him Ryan Matthew which is better. He is a teen now & has told me several times he is So Glad we didn't choose Matthew Ryan & make his initial MRS....so I am thinking that maybe intials Do matter...even tho for a girl hers can always change after marriage.

I think it is a good thing to consider initials.
How about
Delilah Erin
Delilah Morgan
Delilah Elise
Delilah Grace

I know that her initials won't matter much. My sons are JDR and SRR and my sister has a boy whose intitials are MGM..no one even notices when you say their full names and unless you or your daughter calls attention to it, I doubt any kids will even figure it out. No matter what you can't stop teasing any way. If they are going to tease your child they will find something or make something up, her initials won't matter.

Kids can be mean, but I think that kids will think it's cool that her initials are DAM - It's not something funny like PMS...

I like the name dont worry about her getting teased, just teach your little girl to hold her head up high and take pride in everything about herself including the name the woman who will deliver into this world chose for her!!!!!!

No, it should not be a problem. She won't be teased for her initials only if her name was weird which it is not. Its pretty in fact. I like it.
