The dollar sinking does not necessarily mean they are getting poor. In the global view of it, America being a major exporting country stands a bigger chance of competing in the global market. The reason behind this is that the more the dollar gets devalued, the cheaper the export products become, hence they can now compete with European countries, Asia and Canada. Canada on the other hand, will be loosing most of their export advantages to US. The loonie is climbing to all time high and some Canadian are happy about it but their export industries are suffering. Remember, all that glitters is not gold. America now has a better chance than Canada to sell to other countries.

Poorly worded and thought out question, I hope you don't mind me saying.
I think the weak dollar hurts countries that depend on exporting to the US the most. So far China has been able to keep it's currency low with the dollar, but that may not last. India has seen the rupee grow quite strong against the dollar, as has Canada. Thesse countries depend on exports to the US for growth, and they are likely to see thier growth slow as a result of the weak dollar.

I believe a few weeks ago the euro was worth$1.41. This is killing European export dependent industries. Even airbus is considering opening a plant in the United states. A weak dollar isn't great for the United States, but it does make our exports more competitive. Why do you think China has been manipulating their currency to keep it depressed for so long? They want their exports to be as competitive as possible.

We will probably never realize because for the simple fact that Americans re-elected George Bush as our president. When he was re-elected we went trillions of dollars in debt and now the economy is suffering.

It will sink into the gutter, and once coated in urine and diahrrea americans will revolt, coating all other nations with diahrrea and one again establishing our nation as the greatest, most superior nation in the free world. The dollar's value will then eclipse all other currencies. Yayer bishes!
