of course not...but then again neither is masturbation.

Which would you ban?

EDIT - sorry Paradox, did that sound trivial? Well I do get them confused from time to time - one involves a hot sunny afternoon, images of women in diaphanous frocks and the lustful excitement of the baying crowd. The other involves the ritualised slaughter of a herbivore.

no so-called 'sport' where innocent creatures are viciously attacked and then killed for the amusement of people can ever be morally justified. it is not only bullfighting, but all forms of animal abuse in general that is an abomination, and the punishments for the evil perpetrators of such heinous activities should be themselves put into an arena and tortured in the same way. also, the idiots who pay money to watch such degrading and inhuman activities should be strung up by their ankles and whipped mercilessly until they see the error of their ways. personally, if i ever see anybody mistreating an animal in any way, i am likely to go over and beat the living daylights out of them. scumbags.

Surely anything is morally justifiable, it just depends on the morals of the "justifier" and their argumentative skill? It's easy to argue the case for fluffy animals, "ooh nasty humans hurting poor creatures", you need real skill to argue against sentiment and emotion. You are highly unlikely to win, but that doesn't mean you can't have a go.

No. I went to a bullfight in Spain 43 years ago and i can tell you it is a barbaric practice.
It's the deliberately slow torture and death of an animal just for entertainment.
It has no place in a civilised society.

Jingo,
how can you compare masturbation with bullfighting!?
Who does masturbation harm or torture?
Bullfighting on the other hand is cruel, it needlessly tortures an animal for sport and entertainment. It cannot be justified and should be illegal.

everything in this world need not be morally justified. There are many things that are not even under the purview of morals. So there is no justifiability or otherwise about bull fight.

If someone does not want to enjoy it he can keep away.

No its cruel.
I can't understand why they banned fox hunting in this country whilst allowing bull fighting to continue in Spain. The European community interferes in UK things SO much, why doesn't it work in our favour and influence cruel things like that? What did the bull ever do wrong? Its the same as dog fighting.... Or having bears chained up for entertainment...

Presumably depends whether bull's are capable of suffering. If so, then arguably, it is not justifiable; if not, then presumably it is at least morally permissible.

But it is a very tricky question whether any (non-human) animals suffer. For it may be too simplistic to suppose that they must do simply on the basis of their bahaviour. (The phenomena of stoics and shammers shows why that is so). But then what criteria should we use to determine whether something suffers?

of course it is! we all bought the 'moral justification' for sacrificing our best and bravest in ruining iraq didn't we??

imagine what BULLS will do when they invade - intelligence tells us that they have weapons of mass destruction(The Methane Plot), they walk arounod with great fat cutlasses of bone goring well dressed spaniards(clearly a Homophobic Plot) and don't even bother to learn english.

Not really, what blood sport is? BUT there is good bull-fighting which is an art-form and very hard to find and the rest, which is disgusting!
