They have a local organization in most communities.
To SweetPrincessBride: They are still helping Katrina victims by building them homes in other parts of the country, too, so maybe you can still get involved.
I have my first build tomorrow and I am excited!

No but I would really love to do something like that... I wanted to go to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina to do all that I could because it was a big impact on my life... My job required me to talk to these people as they was going through the terrible ordeal... I wasn't able to go because of my ex husband

Yes I have. We just got done building a home for a homeless family. It felt good to help someone in need.
